Who we are
Hey there, my name is Lindi, and I am so glad you are here! As a mom of six incredible daughters in our blended family, I have a deep passion for preserving the wonder of childhood and watching kids unlock their potential and creativity through the fun of exploratory learning.
I’ve always loved the outdoors. I can think back on all the “box car children” style adventures that my sisters and I went on as kids and how much those adventures shaped me both as a woman and a mom. Growing up, I spent as much time as possible exploring, adventuring, making forts in the back hills of Santa Clarita and now, as a mom, I get to share that love with my daughters. But it’s more than just fun—it’s about learning resilience, appreciating God’s wonderful creation, letting the curiosity and wonder of a child’s imagination thrive and flourish, It’s about discovering the joy that comes with stepping outside your comfort zone and building problem solving skills, learning to collaborate with peers and building self-confidence.
That’s why I started Toadstools N’ Treasure Hunts. I wanted kids—whether homeschooled or not—to have a space where they could explore, ask questions, learn, grow, get dirty, laugh and experience the outdoors in a way that builds their confidence. It’s not about making kids “tough” or pushing them to their limits—it’s about showing them how capable they already are and watching their excitement grow as they discover something new.
Around here, camp isn’t just about hiking trails or identifying plants (though we do plenty of that). It’s about letting curiosity and wonder drive conversations. It’s about heartfelt belly laughs, and moments of quiet wonder. It’s about seeing a kid conquer their fears. It’s about watching friendships form over shared adventures, and taking the time to pause and appreciate the world God created.
If you ever find me outside, chances are I’ll be with my husband Teo and we’ll have a few kids running around us, racing to the next look out, or next area they want to build a shelter and camp out at. They’ll probably be asking a million questions, explaining their desires and designs for the next “hippie homestead” and probably getting their shoes covered in mud. Our older girls will probably have younger littles in tow, showing them the ropes and passing down all their knowledge to next generation of adventurers… And that’s exactly how I like it.
I can’t wait to meet you your adventurer and look forward to having them join our ever-growing tribe of adventurers and explorers.
